Power of Thoughts – Session #2

Good Morning Everyone,

Now that we have a solid working definition for the word THOUGHT, and hopefully everyone has taken out the time to observe your own thought patterns, I would like to discuss why our thoughts create our reality.  Before we get started, I would like to recommend a few powerful books that deal with the subject of our thoughts: Think and Grow Rich, and The Law of Success by Napoleon Hill.  The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, and As A Man Thinketh by James Allen.  I have studied and continue to study from these books and many more just like them, so that I can harness the power of my thoughts to shape tomorrow’s reality.  Last but definitely not least is the Lotus Code!  This masterpiece was created by a world-renowned personal development coach and successful businessman, Mark Yarnell.  Please check out his website (http://www.thelotuscode.me/index.php) and view the quick 2 min YouTube video on the power of thoughts!  If you’d like to patronize him and purchase the Lotus Code, I promise you it won’t be money wasted! Matter of fact, the principles mentioned in the Lotus Code, are some of the references I’ll be using throughout our sessions.

Okay back to the subject at hand… Proverbs 18:21 states, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” Therefore, our words create our present reality, a reality of life or a reality of death.  Have you ever notice that most negative and pessimistic folk are always struggling, or have that “nobody knows” look on their face.  Have you ever wondered why you’re in a bad mood after being around negative or complaining folk?  How about the smile that made your day, or the nice compliment you received that made you feel special and unique, in a room crowded with people.  Our words and non-verbal’s set the atmosphere!  It can be the breeding ground of spiritual bliss, or the chaotic realm of hell on earth.

But where do our words and non-verbal’s originate from?  Their origin stems from our thoughts, therefore our thoughts have the creative power to produce life or unleash death!  We must carefully analyze our thoughts.  As my pastor puts it, our thoughts are like a filing cabinet, and we must analyze every file (thought) to ensure it aligns perfectly with the word of God.  If the thought, does not, then we must re-program our minds through applying the scriptural truths to our daily routine (in reference to the “bad” thought), until the bad habit (or thought) is eliminated with a virtuous habit (or thought).  I know this task may appear intimidating initially, since thousands of different thoughts cross our mind on a daily basis, but just like anything else, with time, patience, focus, and consistency we can create a brighter future.  We must start putting forth a sincere effort to monitor our thinking, to ensure we’re not allowing poisonous thoughts to create poisonous words, which ultimately lead to poisonous actions…  But Reggie, what the heck does any of this have to do with FINANCES!!! 🙂 Trust me, we’re going to go there, but we must start from the beginning before we can discuss the end.  Many people are unaware that our spending habits and financial IQ is a byproduct of our thoughts, therefore we must re-program our thinking on money, in order to master our finances. God bless and take care!

Question of the Day: Are you an atmosphere changer?  Do you change the atmosphere for the better or the worse?  Post your comment and let us know where you stand in regards to these two questions.  And if you happen to be on the negative side, what do you plan to do to fix it?
